The United Arab Emirates have taken Iraq’s place in Group C of the 2018 Asian Games Indonesia men’s football tournament.
A re-draw was conducted by the Asian Football Confederation this afternoon on behalf of the Olympic Council of Asia and Indonesia’s Local Organising Committee following Iraq’s withdrawal from the tournament.
UAE are now grouped alongside China PR, Timor-Leste and Syria in Group C, reducing Group E to four teams – Korea Republic, Kyrgyz Republic, Malaysia and Bahrain.
The men’s football tournament is set to take place on 10 August to 1 September in Jakarta.
