A 12-0 drubbing of De La Salle Zobel on Sunday has allowed University of Santo Tomas (UST) to move to the top of the standings of the Philippines Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League.
In the match that was played at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite, striker Shelah Mae Cadag was unstoppable when she scored a blistering eight goals (2nd, 9th, 13th, 26th, 38th, 56th, 68th and 75th minute) for UST’s second win of the season.
Rachelle Sanchez was on target twice in the 47th and 79th minute as Ronalyn Lagata (65th) and Nina Yanto (89th) scored the others.
In the meantime, OutKast FC kept up the chase at the top of the standings with a 2-0 win over Far Eastern University.
Lindsay Whaley headed in the opener after just nine minutes as substitute Marianne Narciso the doubled the advantage in the 73rd minute.
With the win, UST are level on points with OutKast with six points after just two matches of the new season.
The PFF Women’s League next round of matches will be on 8 September 2018, with Green Archers United facing DLSZ at 8am to be followed by the match between OutKast and the University of the Philippines at 1030am.
