Malaysian top pair of Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong were in fiery form in the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles when they dumped world No. 1 pair of Lee Yong Dae-Yoo Yeon Seong in three sets to make the semi-finals of the Rio Olympic Games.
The Malaysian duo, who had only beaten their Korean opponents just once in six previous meetings, came back from a set down to win the battle which lasted almost an hour and a half.
After falling 17-21 in the first set, V Shem and Wee Kiong ralled to a 21-18 win in the second before holding their nerves to take the third set 21-19.
Their opponents in the semi-finals are Chai Biao and Hong Wei from China.
