P. Vehaan is aiming for a fine finish to his career at the Allianz Junior Badminton Championship as he stayed the course to make the semifinals of the Boys’ Under-15 Singles here in Melaka.
After narrowly missing the cut to the Grand Finals in the Boys’ Singles (U13 in 2022 and U15 in 2023), Vehaan is determined to finish his exposure in AHBC on a high note.
“Im determined to win the Boys’ U15 SIingles this year and make the Grand Finals on my own. I was in the Grand Finals last year through the Boys’ U15 Doubles, but I want to win a place in the Singles this year,” said the Form Three student of SMK Taman Jasmine 2 in Kajang.
“That is the reason why I changed my club earlier this year and where I also changed my focus where instead of taking part in competition, I use more time to improve myself.
“And so far, I’m happy with what I have shown in court.”
In the Round of 16 of the Boys’ U15 Singles, Vehaan beat Lim Yang Da 30-20 while in the quarterfinals, henarrowly defeated Low See Zhe 30-29.
However, Vehaan failed to make the semifinals of the Boys’ U15 Doubles when he fell in the quarterfinals alongside partner Foo Jin Tao 30-20 to Boo Jia Cheng-Lim Zyhin.
