Chris Horner, the oldest winner of a Grand Tour, is in search of a new team after Italian outfit Lampre decided not to renew his contract on Tuesday.
The American, who last year stunned many with his victory in the Tour of Spain at the age of 41, joined Lampre in January but suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung when he was hit by a car on a training ride in April.
He recovered sufficiently to compete in the Tour de France where he finished 17th in the overall standings. –Â Agence France-Presse
