Vietnam have announced their squad ahead of this week’s AFF Suzuki Cup as they look to recapture the title they last won in 2008.
“It was a really difficult decision as spots are limited. I hope they will try harder for other upcoming tournaments. The door to the national team is always open for talented players,” said Vietnam head coach Nguyen Huu Thang.
Huu Thang brings with him 25 players to Myanmar – the venue for Group B of the championship – although this will be trimmed down to 23 players a day before the game.
Other teams in Group B are Malaysia and Cambodia.
