In what should be the final test ahead of the AFF Suzuki Cup next week, Vietnam held Japanese League side Avispa Fukuoka FC to a soreless draw in the match that was played at the Can Tho Stadium.
And while Vietnam dominated for long periods, they just could not make it count against a stubborn Avispa defence as the Japanese held off for the draw.
Vietnam are in Group B of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 against hosts Myanmar, Malaysia and Cambodia.
In the meantime, the Vietnam national U22 side conceded a 3-1 loss Uzbekistan in their final series of friendlies that was played in Wuhan, China.
In the first two friendlies, Vietnam had held China to a 1-1 draw and also dre 0-0 with Mexico.
