The Vietnamese women’s football team finished fourth in a quadrangular meet that was organised by the China Football Association (CFA) this week.
In the tournament that was played out at Guangdong Province, Vietnam conceded a 2-0 loss to archrival Thailand on the last day of competition.
The Thais completed the tournament on third with two goals from Taneekarn Dangda in the 84th minute and Sung-Ngoen 91st minute.
Vietnam had earlier lost 4-0 to hosts China before conceding a 2-0 loss to Colombia.
China were the winners with three wins while Colombia finished second.
China, Thailand and Vietnam are all taking part in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Jordan in April.
