Dorna and OSN Mena are delighted to announce an exciting new five-year television agreement, with the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship and FIM MotoGP™ World Championship set to be broadcast on OSN Sports Action 1 across the region from 2017 to 2021.
OSN (Orbit Showtime Network), headquartered in Dubai, is a Pay TV provider founded in 2009 and now broadcasting into more than five million homes across the Middle East and North Africa. WorldSBK and MotoGP will form part of a new 10-channel sports pack recently launched by the provider, with all the action from the world’s premier motorcycle racing series to be aired on OSN Sports Action 1.
The channel will provide full Saturday and Sunday coverage of each incredible Round of WorldSBK, with Tissot-Superpole kicking off the main draw on Saturday ahead of Race 1 – before WorldSSP and WorldSBK Race 2 light up the timesheets on Sunday. Every Grand Prix on the MotoGP™ calendar will also be broadcast on the channel, from Free Practice and Qualifying to race day. OSN will actively promote both Championships.
Andy Warkman, SVP, Sport & Sports Production, OSN, said: “We are very excited with the addition of WorldSBK and MotoGP to OSN’s already extensive line-up of not-to-be-missed sport that reflects our customer-first strategy under #newOSN. We are looking forward to bringing the premier motorcycle series to the Middle East and subscribers to our Ultimate Sports Pack won’t miss a beat with the very best coverage of all the action, live and exclusive on OSN, as we continue to expand the breadth of premium sporting action available.”
Manel Arroyo, Managing Director, Media Area, Dorna Sports: “We’re delighted to announce this five year deal with OSN Mena and see WorldSBK and MotoGP reach more than five million homes in the Middle East and North Africa. Both Championships are truly global sports with a global audience, and this new agreement is fantastic news for MotoGP, WorldSBK and every fan of motorsport in the region.”
