It will be an exciting journey for Zen Low and Fairuz Fauzy as they head to Okayama International Circuit
for Round Three and Four of the GT Asia Series this weekend.
The second outing for the duo and afterĀ a tumultuous race weekend at the season opener in Korea, finishing in points in round two, bothĀ drivers are eager to make a bigger mark.
Zen and Fairuz will once again compete in OD Racingās Lamborghini Gallardo FLII, backed by EcoTint,Ā Prince Lubricants, Jonnesway, GoPro, Rudy Project and Shark Helmets.
The teamās first outing in Korea was a challenging one, a gearbox issue in round one that cost the teamĀ a top eight finish just two laps shy of the end of the race, but they redeemed themselves a little inĀ round two by collecting vital points with a top eight finish. Both Zen and Fairuz are excited to be inĀ Japan and are aiming for a strong weekend.
It will be the first time in Okayama for Zen so the duo got an early start last week on the simulator,Ā getting a feel for the circuit and to learn as much as they can before arriving in Japan.
For Fairuz, it will be a visit to a familiar place as he has raced there two years ago, but in a different car
and very different atmosphere.
āI am really looking forward to the weekend and to come back toĀ Okayama. For me it was a challenging track and the last time I was here was during the Super GT inĀ 2013. That weekend, I experienced both wet and dry track conditionsā said Fairuz as he arrived atĀ Kansai International Airport on Monday evening.
āThe circuit itself is tough in terms of the layout as it is a short and narrow track where you canāt affordĀ to make mistakes. Itās a very unforgiving circuit, and to me it has some similarities with Brands Hatch.
āThis will be the first time here for Zen and we went for some practice on the simulator. So hopefullyĀ that helps us to plan our race here as Zen is a little bit more familiar with the track nowā he ended.Ā
Both drivers are eager to get to the circuit as the Aylezo crew, who were in Japan since SaturdayĀ evening, have already started to unload and set-up the pit area.
“Itās going to be my first time so I tried to find out as much about the track as I can from the internetĀ and it seems really technical and its small. Nothing like Sepangā laughed Zen.
āI was told that it is an interesting track with various elevations so it will be another great learningĀ curve for me, so we will see how it goes. Iām like a sponge now, absorbing as much information as IĀ can as we go along. Really looking forward to itā ended Zen.
